3 of the 1967 semi-finalists all played for the Churchmens Club, Old Colwyn. The other semi-finalist was Bill Morgan of Llandudno Crosville.

Arthur knocked out Peter Foster in a thriller which was described, in the newspaper clip below, as the most exciting match of the tournament whilst Jim defeated Bill Morgan. Jim went on to beat Arthur 3-0 in the final.
