The North Wales Billiards and Snooker Association was formed in 1972 under the leadership and invaluable hard work of Jim Doherty, Bill Whale, Eric Roberts and John Williams. At the time there were 11 leagues throughout North Wales that made up the Association. Tony Thomas has also been, for a long time, a hugely vital part of keeping the Association running and Jim, Bill and Tony still basically run the Association today.
Each year two Inter-League competitions are run side by side for the A and B teams of the 8 leagues which now make up the Association. The Thursday League A side, up until 2005 had never won the competition. Their B side however have been very successful, having been in 4 consecutive finals from 2002 to 2005. They won it in the first two of these, 2002 and 2003.
